ASV Survey Technician

Based: Irvine, North Ayrshire

Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience

Contract term: Permanent

Working Hours: Full Time - 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday

My Client, who based in Irvine are a professional survey company, providing multi-discipline surveying solutions to a range of clients locally and nationally.

They are looking for a skilled/qualified Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to join their experienced team as an ASV Survey Technician (Autonomous/Remote Controlled Survey Vehicle)

You will work within an established team of surveyors utilising the latest technology within the field of remote data capture.

This position will provide the opportunity to:

o gain a wide experience in a variety of surveying disciplines and environments.

o develop knowledge of autonomous/unmanned vehicle operation and perform maintenance with ASV, UAV & ROV systems and their ancillary equipment and sensor integration, such as 3D Photogrammetric cameras, LiDAR, SLAM, GNSS, DVL & USBLs etc.

The role will involve:

o Providing Support to Site Technicians and Surveyors

o Assisting in the mobilisation, launch and recovery of ASV, UAV & ROV Systems

o Following best practices working in the aerial & marine environment, as well as robotic and automated systems.

o Assisting the survey & engineering team in the performance their duties, including problem solving to maintain operational capabilities.

o Creating and developing operating procedures and service and maintenance documents.

o Adhering to strict health and safety procedures.

o Maintaining, cleaning and organising workshop areas and equipment inventories,

Educational Requirements:

Degree qualified or having completed a recognised apprenticeship with an HNC/HND, or extensive experience with a track record in Electrical/Mechanical systems. (Full training will be provided in the use of survey equipment and industry specific software packages.)

Electronically proficient, with high level IT skills, including data entry and programming capabilities.

Quick learner, with the ability to follow instructions and procedures.

The role will involve working outside, in all weathers and a degree of physical exertion should be expected. (Appropriate Health & Safety Training will be provided),

The work involves early starts and unsocial hours, with staying away from home for short periods also required on occasion. You must be able to work as part of a team and on your own when training allows.

Salary will depend on experience.
